The Crown Hall is the original administrative and economic centre of every Settlement. It stores gathered resources, manages Age advancement, and produces new villagers through its Muster Door.
During the Hearth and Forge Ages, each Settlement may have only one Crown Hall. Upon reaching the Citadel Age, up to three additional district centres may be established, allowing a maximum of four Crown Halls within a single Settlement. These additional centres support population growth, territorial expansion, resource distribution, and control of newly developed districts.
During an attack by a rival or hostile Settlement, the player may ring the Crown Hall bell to call nearby villagers inside for shelter. Each Crown Hall can protect up to 50 villagers at a time. Villagers may also seek refuge in nearby Towers or Castles when those structures are available.
The destruction of every Crown Hall places a Settlement in an extremely vulnerable position. Without an active Crown Hall, the player can no longer muster new villagers, greatly restricting the Settlement’s ability to replace lost workers, gather resources, repair damage, or rebuild its economy.
This does not always result in immediate defeat. If enough villagers survive, they may retreat to the territory of an allied Settlement and attempt to establish a new Crown Hall from there. Such a recovery is difficult, however, particularly if the player has already suffered heavy economic and military losses, and defeat often follows unless the allied team can protect the surviving villagers long enough for the Settlement to rebuild.
